Traffic circulation is very difficult, with several sections of road and underpasses flooded. The firefighters have received hundreds of requests for help, and since last night they have already intervened in 250 critical situations. The President of the Region, Luca Zaia, will take stock of the situation in a press conference he will hold in the morning at the Civil Protection headquarters in Marghera.

A bridge was swept away during the night by a raging torrent in the municipality of Malo (Vicenza). What caused it to collapse was the force of the current of the Livergon torrent, swollen by the rains. No one was involved in the accident. The “Chicken Bridge”, as it is called by residents, connected via San Giovanni with via Chenderle. The roar woke up residents of the area who then raised the alarm. Also in Malo, another smaller bridge collapsed in the Via Petrarca area. The damage from bad weather was also heavy in the municipality of Isola Vicentina. In Schio (Vicenza) the carabinieri rescued two women who were trapped inside their car in a flooded underpass in Viale Europa. The soldiers immersed themselves in the water and mud overflowing from the torrents and pulled the two women out through the windows.
