A new city in the center of Calabria

The territories along the route that leads from Catanzaro to Lamezia Terme are those on which the “new city” should be born; the isthmus that connects the Ionian Sea to the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The objective is to give shine to a reality that will contribute to making the new territory unique and attractive after it has acquired the new dimension that will restore development and prominence to the whole of Calabria.
“Spes ultima goddess”, said the Latins. And the hope of restoring prestige to this part of Calabria comes precisely from the realization of this project. Not an easy journey, but not difficult either. Not only the interested communities, but also the neighboring ones, look carefully at it, driven by the idea that the work will favor a large community in that territory, in the center of Calabria, served by the motorway and an important airport, such as of Lamezia Terme. A city destined to restore hospitality and well-being to its inhabitants.
Interested in the project are, in fact, the territories along the “isthmus” that extends from the Ionian Sea to the Tyrrhenian beach, along which the largest city in Calabria would be built, on a stupendous territory, unique in its kind.
The future of the interesting project depends on the evaluation of the political realities that administer Calabria, already contacted and informed by the “Movement for the relaunch of perspective” on the possibility of giving a new face to Calabria in the central part of its territory.
It is now a question of tackling the problems to resolve them with wisdom and unity of purpose, knowing that this is the way to overcome that “opacity” that would block the development of the central area of ​​Calabria.
Once the problems that could emerge have been identified, it is a matter of working towards the realization of the work. A job that the “team”, led by Piero Amato, has discussed several times and which it entrusts to the technicians to reach the finish line.
The realization and valorisation of the project both depend not only on the commitment of the administrators, but also on the sharing of the citizens, taking into account the traditions, customs and experiences acquired. Driven by the desire to give development to an area that needs it.
What will be born will be the result of a synergistic process that requires an action plan that takes into account the needs of the population, but also the expectations of those who are committed to its development. Examples of this are the cities of Reggio Calabria and Cosenza which, over time, have managed to obtain even more than they were due.
Politics, in Catanzaro and Lamezia Terme, as well as in the municipalities scattered along the “isthmus”, takes into account that to carry out the project the support of the local administrations will be essential, as well as that, even more important, of the Region.
The objective, beyond sharing the project, is to overcome any constraints that may arise. To reach the goal, the initiative needs to be launched and managed in all its phases in order to create the “great city of the Isthmus”, taking into account the needs of the population, but above all, of the bodies responsible for expressing the opinion.
This is the turning point that could give Calabria a future and flourishing perspective. Thinking of a new area, in a “large field” that goes from the Tyrrhenian to the Ionian Sea, means having worked for the good of the communities involved, taking into account their traditions, habits and customs, up to their lifestyles.
All of this, considering the responsibilities, must be part of the interests pursued by the individual municipal administrations, supporting those who have been fighting for a long time to make the new, great city of the isthmus a reality. This will be the moment of moral revenge for the territories concerned and for the whole of Calabria.
