Reggio Emilia He returns to perform in the city The Welfare Statecalled by the unions for a Labor Day that promises to be full of hot topics and controversies. Wednesday 1st May the Bolognese formation, which started from the indie scene of the new millennium and then gradually exploded up to participation in the Sanremo Festival and the television hosting of the singer Lodo, will perform at 5pm in Piazza Martiri on 7 July in a free concert promoted by CGIL, CISL and Uil in collaboration with Arci Reggio Emilia on the occasion of Labor Day.
The event will begin at 3pm, when the provincial CGIL, CISL and UIL delegations they will meet at the beginning of Viale Montegrappa, where it will start and end its journey in Piazza Martiri del 7 Luglio, in the city centre. In the place where, in 1960, five people from Reggio Emilia were murdered by the police during a demonstration organized by the union, to stay on topic.
The institutional interventions are scheduled for 4.15pm, when the general secretary of the Reggio Emilia CGIL will speak Cristian Sesenathe general secretary of the Uil of Modena and Reggio Roberto Rinaldi And Rosamaria Papaleo, general secretary of CISL Emilia Centrale. At 5pm you will turn to music and Lo Stato Sociale, once again in Reggio. The last performance was held in a place with a symbolic value similar to the Piazza del 7 Luglio, or the Officine Reggiane, organized at the time to remember the workers killed by the fascist army on 28 July 1943, during the first demonstrations for peace following the dismissal of Mussolini. Courses and recourses for a training that has never overshadowed political commitment, indeed, even in moments of maximum visibility, those of growth after the brilliant debut and the massive media exposure given by Sanremo. Lodo and Bebotwo of the main authors, have often collaborated with the Reggio Emilia Max Collini for his various projects. In 2023, after a long break, they released the new album of unreleased songs, “Stupido Sexy Futuro”, a record in which the Bolognese formation publicly comes to terms with the years of inevitable maturity, growth and the end of many public hopes and private. A speech well clarified by the trailblazer single, “Fottuti per semper” in duet with Vasco Brondi, another voice of the same generation, full of bitterness but also of the desire to move forward.
From a musical point of view, the formula remains discreetly faithful to the one that allowed the first bang, with sounds derived from indie and electronic pop which from the 80s to today has marked every sound period in constant cycles.
With Stato Sociale, the very long tradition of Labor Day concerts promoted in Reggio continues, at the same time as the national one in Rome presented several times by Lodo de Stato Sociale. Many high-level artists have passed through the decades, with peaks in the 90s of the CSI and the Consorzio Produci Indipendenti.
