L’AQUILA – If there are hooligan acts in the historic center of L’Aquila against playgrounds, it is obvious that in the more peripheral areas things are no better. The report comes from Pettino, near via Austria, not far from the parish church, where vandals have repeatedly targeted a large play area reserved for the very young people of the populous neighborhood where, at that point, there are restored buildings with 200 apartments.
The incursions, although not very recent, have been carried out repeatedly with clear results; street lamps stoned, as well as light bulbs, signs torn to pieces, fences torn down and entrance doors to the spaces broken, a grate damaged, swings in theory working, but perhaps it’s better not to trust them. And then tall grass everywhere and dirt, a sign that no one has touched it for a long time. In short, the sense of abandonment triumphs as the photo by G. Cocciolone attests.
The residents do not take half measures: “A park that was the jewel in the crown of the neighborhood has been destroyed and it would be appropriate for the Municipality to get involved in addition to positioning some cameras.”
