COLOMBIA – Italy dominates i University Finswimming World Championships 2024 and theUniversity of Pavia stands out with the brilliant victory of Shao Denis in the 800m monofin. Denis took gold with a time of 6’57″22staging a masterful performance that consecrated his talent and tenacity.

The second day of competitions opened with another Italian triumph, that of Viola Magoga, already protagonist on the first day. The swimmer from Pavia won gold in the 100m fins with a time of 49″96, once again demonstrating her champion making. Following, Lorenzo Caronno of the Pegaso Telematic University won bronze in the 100m monofin with a time of 43″13. Valter Prampolini instead he won silver in the 200m fins with a time of 1’40″61, confirming himself as one of the best fins swimmers in the world. Laura Franchin he then dominated the 400m fins, winning gold with a time of 3’57″02. Rebecca Scagnetto took third place in the same race with a time of 4’03″31.

The day ended on a high note with gold in the 4x100m fins relay, won by Viola Magoga, Laura Franchin, Valter Prampolini and Silvio Camerini with a time of 3’08″53. This triumph consolidated Italy’s first place in the overall medal table. With a total of 13 medals, of which 6 in the women’s, 5 in the men’s and 2 in the mixed relays, Italy demonstrated its strength and solidity as a group. An extraordinary result that fills the entire Italian university sports movement with pride.
