Foligno, 29 April 2024 – The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Foligno Company have released a 30-year-old Italian man into custody on suspicion of the crime of snatch theft.
The military intervened in the Puelle area of the town centre, where a 78-year-old woman, while she was walking, was approached from behind by a man who, in an attempt to snatch her bag, made her fall to the ground, causing injuries to her hand and at the elbows.
On the occasion, a passerby intervened and, attracted by the screams of the victim, attempted to chase the subject, who, in the meantime, disappeared into the surrounding streets, abandoning the bag along the road.
The investigations carried out by the operators, through the statements made by the victim and through the acquisition of images from the video surveillance system of the municipality of Foligno, made it possible to promptly identify the alleged perpetrator.
The man was reported in a state of freedom to the Spoleto Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The subject, at the current stage of the investigation, is presumed innocent.
