L’International Organization for Animal Protection (Oipa) is ready to transfer the four cattle that wander in the territory of Refrancore, in the province of Asti, to save them from death.
The coordinator of Nucleus of the zoophile guards of Alessandria and its province, Cristina Destrosent an urgent request to the mayor Roberta Volpato and to the director of the ASL veterinary service, Giampiero Rizzolaoffering a bloodless alternative.
«From the information we have, it would appear that the Municipality and the Local Health Authority are taking action to capture it with the consequent risk of culling», he declares Cristina Destro. «Without prejudice to the intervention activities to identify the owner and provide for the application of the measures provided for by law, including the measure of seizure/confiscation of the animals, in order to protect them, the Oipa Section of Alessandria is available to transport them to two shelters suitable people who have made themselves available to welcome them”.
Oipa specifies that the Ministry of Health’s Protocol regarding the discovery of stray cattle establishes the procedure to be followed, providing for the possibility of transfer to animal protection bodies or associations.
Oipa is now waiting for a response from the Municipality and the ASL to give a happy ending to the story and a peaceful life for the four Refrancore cattle.
