Sicilian Episcopal Conference

The Bishops of Sicily will travel to Rome from Monday 29 April to 3 May for the “Visit ad Limina Apostolorum” and to confirm communion with the Bishop of Rome and with the Church which he presides in charity.

The Visit will begin on Monday 29th morning with the meeting with the Holy Father Francis at the Apostolic Palace and in the following days will continue with meetings at the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia, where the Prelates will present the ecclesial path of the Churches of Sicily, after having sent to Holy See a detailed report on its own diocese and a general one for the entire Ecclesiastical Region.

During the days of the Visit, celebrations are planned in the Papal Basilicas and a moment of prayer at the Church of “S. Maria Odigitria” of the Sicilians. The Visit, for the Sicilian Episcopal Conference, is a significant moment to express gratitude to the Holy Father and to receive guidance and support for the episcopal ministry.

During the Visit, the Bishops will also have the opportunity to reflect on theological, pastoral and administrative arguments that will help them in serving the individual Churches.
