At the municipality of S.Teresa the return match against Vittoria, valid for the semi-final of the Regional Italian Cup – Promotion category
There are just a few hours left until the return match of the Regional Italian Cup semi-final between Valdinisi and Vittoria, teams competing in Promotion. It will be played on Sunday at 4.30 pm on the Bucalo municipal stadium in S.Teresa di Riva. In the first leg, Vittoria prevailed 2-0. Roberto Frazzica’s boys are aware that it will take a feat to overturn the result and obtain qualification for the final. The opponent is almost prohibitive. Vittoria is a battleship, with a superior category of players. They dominated group D without losing a match, with 100 goals scored in 26 matches, averaging almost four goals per match, and conceding only 11 goals. This explains why the match has a very high difficulty coefficient, considering that Valdinisi would have to score three goals without conceding any to get through the round.
But among the red and whites there is great confidence, there is a strong belief that they can do it and, above all, that they will play an important match, selling their lives dearly. It is a match of absolute prestige for Valdinisi, who had never reached this goal in the regional Italian Cup. A match which, among other things, has a double value, because reaching the final could mean passage to Excellence considering that the other probable finalist has already won the championship in their group.
The red and whites trained well during the week, under the technical directions of Mr. Frazzica, with the athletic and tactical preparation entrusted to Sebastiano Perrone and that of the goalkeepers to the prof. Pippo De Pietro.
Unfortunately Valdinisi will not be at full strength, four central players will be missing on the tactical board: goalkeeper Bonasera, who suffered a serious injury in the first leg, striker Antonio Ventra and playmaker Fabio Campo are suspended and Joele Cicala was also injured on Friday. On the other hand, the red and whites will be able to count on the usual galvanizing support of the fans, the twelfth man on the pitch.
