In Pescara there is now the Michetti Park

Now, in via Avezzano in Pescara, there is Parco Michetti, an inclusive intergenerational playground, financed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies.

Created thanks to the collaboration between the Province of Pescara, Uniat (National Union of Tenants, Environment and Territory) and Uniat Abruzzo and other institutions, it is an open meeting place and above all accessible to disabled people. The president of the Province of Pescara, Ottavio De Martinis, inaugurated the space; the national Uniat president, Pietro Pellegrini, and the Uniat Abruzzo president, Antonio Mazza, with the participation of the Uil Abruzzo organizational secretary Fabrizio Truono and the president of the Business & Social Consortium Marco Cascella.

The initiative was strongly supported by Uil Abruzzo, as Uniat is the tenants’ association of Uil. The general secretary of Uil Abruzzo, Michele Lombardo: “We are convinced that support for people must also take place through these initiatives, aimed at offering important and vital inclusive spaces, which represent decisive steps in the fight against marginalization”.

The concept was reiterated by the national president of Uniat, Pietro Pellegrini: “It is increasingly important to create places of discussion and integration to combat isolation and social exclusion. This project is undoubtedly a best practice of collaboration between the public and the associative world.”

De Martinis: “We have given back to the city an important space located in the center of Pescara, which until some time ago was in a state of abandonment and which has become a decent place.” May 9, 2024
