Earthquake shock on the border with Switzerland felt in Valle d’Aosta

An earthquake was felt in Valle d’Aosta late today, Thursday 9 May. According to data from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology it occurred at 11.25pm ​​and its intensity was magnitude 3.4. The epicenter is located just beyond the Swiss border, in the canton of Valais, in the area of ​​the Glétroz glacier, at a depth of 1 km, less than 20 km from the upper Valpelline.

Among the places of the first reports, the hill of Aosta and the Nus area. To find the detection of a telluric movement of magnitude greater than 3, near our region, you have to go back in time to September 2022, when in the V3 area of ​​Mont Blanc (also in this case, just beyond the French border) the seismographs recorded an ML 3.3.
