Extraordinary checks in the squares of Trieste: 193 people identified

TRIESTE In recent days the State Police of Trieste has set up another extraordinary “High Impact” territorial control service. During the checks, 193 people were identified, of which 62 foreigners, and 34 vehicles and 12 public businesses were checked.

The checks, explains a press release from the police headquarters, were arranged “in relation to the need to monitor urban areas characterized by particular conditions of urban and social degradation in order to prevent illegal conduct, especially relating to the consumption of narcotic substances, alcohol abuse and the vandalization of public spaces”.

The staff of the Trieste Police Headquarters had the support of the Crime Prevention Department of the Padua State Police, the staff of the Guardia di Finanza and the Local Police.

The checks focused in particular on various squares, where illegal acts have occurred in the past, including Piazza Goldoni and surrounding streets, Piazza del Perugino and surrounding streets, Piazza Garibaldi and surrounding streets, Piazza Oberdan and surrounding streets, Viale XX Settembre and surrounding streets, Valmaura district and surrounding streets, Borgo San Sergio, Opicina and the Ospedale Maggiore area.
