Antonino Ballarino, the major “shareholder” of the LFA Reggio Calabriawho spoke in the fortnightly Go Regginatook stock of a very difficult season, especially due to the chatter outside the playing field:
“The situation was already complicated, then with all the attacks we received we could have been in disarray. We built an entire team in ten days, despite receiving numerous refusals from players who didn’t trust coming to Reggio after everything that had happened, while now no one wants to leave. And again, the decision to let us play immediately and all those games in a row because once
admitted, the other clubs were scared of Reggina. On the other hand, we risked the fate of the tournament in the first ten games“.
Ballarino continues: “Not being from Reggio, I think I am guilty of being southern, of not coming from Rome upwards. Or perhaps, simply, to be a normal, true person. Those who don’t know me don’t appreciate me. Furthermore, in the club, in addition to the deputy Fabio Vitale, there are Reggini, the president, the club manager Giuseppe Praticò… However, there are two very different aspects, the real one, where I feel welcomed, and the mostly negative one, of the
social. But it must be clear that those who speak badly of the club do not love Reggina“.
Ballarino underlines: “There really weren’t any good moments. However, I can say about the beauty of having had the opportunity to know
a wonderful people, of the enormous commitment on the part of all those who believe in the Reggina project and whom I thank. The worst moment, when I was personally attacked“.
