The National Night of the Classical High School is celebrated for the tenth year at the ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ in Molfetta

On April 30th, from 6pm to 9pm, in the outdoor gym and in the classrooms: dance, music, acting, history


MOLFETTA – The Leonardo da Vinci Classical High School‘ of Molfetta participates in the 10th edition of the “Nnational prize for classical high school” which will take place next Tuesday 30 Aprilstarting at 6 pm, in the historic headquarters of Corso Umberto I. An event, that of the Night, open to the entire citizenry, to which the local authorities, former students, former teachers and all those who want to attend the performances carried out by the students, guided by their teachers, have been invited, all in with the aim of making known the value, beauty and modernity of classical culture. The theme chosen this year is “Nos, here and now”, as the professor underlines Olimpia Rana, representative of the initiative: «Our objective is to offer an essay – here and now – of how classicism can be fruitfully declined in multifaceted expressive modalities of our contemporaneity without losing its primordial essence, in compliance with the themes and suggestions provided by the national organizing committee”. The first part of the “Night” will take place from 6pm to 7pm and will take place in the recently renovated outdoor gym of the Classical High School; we start with the traditional Greek choir recited at the same time by the classics participating in the project – this year the evocative “Ode to the moon” by Giacomo Leopardi – and, following, the performances: “Bocca di rosa”, inspired by the ballad of the same name by De André ; “If only we could love each other”, rhapsody of different arts in English; “Beauty shows itself when its light shines”, an enchanting choreography. This will be followed, starting from 7 pm onwards, by other plays in the internal area of ​​the high school – partly closed to the public due to work in progress – with the performances “Voices of the night”, in memory of the Muslim spring in Egypt and the young people who gave their lives for freedom; “Giacomo Matteotti: 100 years of democracy and justice”, to remember the sacrifice of the honorable socialist against the fascist dictatorship; “The Betrothed”, a musical inspired by Manzoni’s famous novel. The head teacher of the “Einstein Da Vinci” high schools, Dr Giuseppina Bassi, has followed in every phase the meticulous organization of a cultural initiative which, collectively, involves the entire school community and which is configured as the final moment of the current school year, before the State Exams. Appointment, therefore, at Tuesday 30 April, from 6pm to 9pmat the Classico headquarters, on Corso Umberto I in Molfetta, with the X Edition of the “National Night of the Classical High School”.
