from the WaltherPark in Bolzano to the Bauer hotel in Venice

The German Schoeller group takes over three Signa projects in Italy. The contracts were signed in Vienna and concern the WaltherPark project under construction in Bolzano, the Viva Virgolo development project in Bolzano and the Hotel Bauer in Venice. Just on Monday, René Benko reappeared in court in Innsbruck for the case on the bankruptcy of the holding company he founded: the creditors are asking for around 2 billion euros.

The contracts

The signing of the contracts by the boards of directors of Signa Prime and the Schoeller group they are the result of fruitful negotiations conducted between Vienna, Munich and Bolzano. The projects

But what are the projects in question? The first is the WaltherPark of Bolzano. This urban development project includes a shopping centre, a hotel, apartments and office space. Construction work is progressing at a brisk pace and the opening is expected in spring 2025. The second is Long live Virgolo, also in Bolzano. The project includes the ownership and redevelopment of the city hill of Bolzano, the Virgolo, with a cable car. To date, the project concerning the possible creation of a museum center on the Virgolo is being reworked. In the end the Hotel Bauer in Venice. Since 2020, the historic hotel overlooking the Grand Canal has been part of Signa’s portfolio, extensive renovation works began in November 2022. Following the renovation, the hotel is expected to reopen under Rosewood management.
