To honor the all-Italian victory of the Davis Cup which took place in 2023, the Italian Post Office announced today’s issue (Wednesday 8 May ed.) by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy of an ordinary stamp, belonging to the thematic series “lo Sport”, relating to the value of the A zone 1 fare equal to €3.60.
There circulation and of two hundred thousand and four specimens of stamps And one hundred thousand sheets. One sheet contains twenty-eight copies. The stamp is printed by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato SpA, in rotogravure on neutral coated white paper, self-adhesive and non-fluorescent. The sketch And edited by Maria Carmela Perrini.
On the single stamp there cartoon depicts, in stylized graphics on a white background, the Italian men’s tennis team in the act of lifting the Davis Cup trophy, the world’s top national team competition won last year. To seal the cartoon, at the top right, a ribbon with the colors of the Italian flag. They complete the stampentitled “ITALIAN VICTORY OF THE 2023 DAVIS CUP”, the writing “ITALY” and the tariff indication “A zone 1”.

The leaflet containing the stamp reproduces, in the foreground on the leftone photography from the Italian team Of tennis around the Davis Cup won in 2023, and in particular, from left to right, Lorenzo Musetti, Matteo Arnaldi, Captain Filippo Volandri, Jannik Sinner, Simone Bolelli And Lorenzo Sonego. The stamp is set at the top right. The logo of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation is reproduced at the bottom. The legend “ITALIAN VICTORY OF THE 2023 DAVIS CUP” completes the leaflet.
The “first day of issue” cancellation will be available at the philatelic counter of the Rome Prati post office. Stamp and related philatelic products: postcards, cards and illustrative bulletins, will be available at post offices with philatelic counters, the “Filately Spaces” in Florence, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Rome, Rome 1, Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona and on filatelia.poste.it website.
For the occasion, a three-fold philatelic folder in A4 format was also createdcontaining a quatrain of stamps, the leaflet, a canceled and stamped postcard, a first day of issue cover, the illustrative bulletin, at the price of 35 Euros.
