They had met a few years ago. He, a seventy-year-old with health problems, including on a psychological and cognitive level; she, engaged in the “oldest job in the world”. A liking had developed between the two and, indeed, the pensioner had fallen in love with the woman, saying he loved and protected her. She had even moved in with the man. A coexistence viewed with suspicion by the elderly man’s family, who feared she wanted to gain something from it. After a while the suspicions were confirmed: sums of cash were periodically withdrawn from the pensioner’s bank account. With the accounts in hand, we had reached a figure of around 20 thousand euros. Hence the complaint to the police: tried for circumvention of an incompetent person, the woman, KZ, a forty-four-year-old of Albanian origin who was also the recipient of the precautionary measure of the ban on approaching the victim, agreed to a 10-month prison sentence.
The matter came to light about a year and a half ago. Suddenly the children of the elderly man, a frail person with problems, noticed that his friend had settled in the man’s house. They asked for explanations and also learned that she had a history of paid encounters. However, they had not been able to fully understand what type of relationship had arisen between the two, how they had met, and in what capacity she had placed herself in the septuagenarian man’s house in Oleggio, since she did not even collaborate in any domestic matters. Over time, however, it occurred that the man went to withdraw money and then gave it to his friend. He had even opened a loan on behalf of the woman. Worried, the old man’s children did everything they could to remove her. She, however, had made the excuse that the pensioner owed her money. She had been given another 1,500 euros for some unclear services performed by her. It all seemed over but after a few months the woman reappeared again, returning to the seventy-year-old’s home. This is the reason why the children decided to report the facts.
