As is known, since 4 March 2024, the new experimental procedure has been fully operational which, through a renewed version of the online agenda, allows users to choose between the two appointment methods, an “ordinary” one and an “urgent one”. ”.

It is reiterated that, as an alternative to the “ordinary” booking agenda, if the user needs to leave within 30 days, he or she must select the second option “Urgent Appointments”. By doing so, you will have access to the availability of a separate agenda, reserved for those who need to obtain a passport quickly, and will be able to book an appointment with availability from 1 to 15 days. To take advantage of this advantage, after booking, you must complete a self-certification form, which can be downloaded directly together with all the forms, to which you must attach the documentation proving the actual urgency (air tickets, reservations, requests from employers, etc. ).

The availability of places in the agenda is limited to a maximum period of 15 days, a time period currently considered sufficient for the management and processing of so-called “on sight” emergencies of applicants residing in this province.

The further objective to achieve which the Passport Office is continuously working is to reduce the times foreseen in the agenda of ordinary appointments. First of all, users’ attention is drawn to the fact that every day places are freed up in the aforementioned agenda, so users who have to book an appointment are advised to regularly check the ordinary agenda, as the emergence of slots that become available even in the very short term.

Precisely with reference to the activities aimed at normalizing the “ordinary” online agenda, it was also found that, in the first four months of the year, approximately 15% of the users who had made the reservation not only did not show up for the appointment on the requested day and time, but, unfortunately, they did not even cancel the appointment to make the place available for other users.

This means that a considerable number of appointments were deserted, a circumstance which negatively affects the efforts made by the office to try to “normalize” booking times, as well as causing damage to other users who could take advantage of available places, in the absence of emergencies within 30 days, in quicker times than those currently foreseen by the ordinary agenda.

To cancel the appointment you must log in with your profile to the “Agendaonline Passports/Poliziadistato” portal (the same one through which the booking was made). After selecting the item “PENDING REQUESTS” and subsequently, “ELECTRONIC PASSPORT“, you need to click on “APPOINTMENT DETAILS” and, on the next page that opens, you will need to search for the item DELETE where you will then find the words “HERE YOU CAN CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT accompanied by the button “DELETE”.

A further recommendation is appropriate with reference to non-urgent bookings. It was found, in fact, that several appointment slots available in the first months of 2025 (considering that the appointment agenda is open indefinitely), are booked by users whose passport expires during the the year 2025, even after the summer. In this regard, it is reiterated that, given the current state of appointment management, there is no need to book so far in advance of the expiry date of the booklet, considering that, with the new emergency agenda and the use of overbooking (calibrated appointments on the specific needs of each applicant), pending the normalization of booking times, all users in the province of Reggio Emilia have obtained and will obtain the passport in the necessary time.

Finally, it is specified that all appointments booked on an emergency basis cannot be cancelled; It is therefore recommended that users make a reservation only when there is certainty of showing up on the day of the appointment.
