A 21-year-old born in Turin and domiciled in Milan but of Eastern European origins, already known to justice, was reported at large by the police on charges of receiving stolen goods and possessing burglary tools.
According to what has been reconstructed, on the afternoon of 24 April a call came to 112 reporting two people in the Villa Olmo car park in a suspicious attitude around parked cars and a gray BMW being used by the two men with a third on board. Two police officers intervened when the three, in the reported car, were leaving the area. After a short stretch in the alleys leading to Via Borgovico, the car was abandoned with the doors open and the three on board ran away.
The officers, after a short chase on foot, managed to stop the 21-year-old and take him to the police station, where he was identified. From the search on the BMW, which turned out to be registered together with other cars to a Milanese man who is already in prison in Pavia, the police found and seized a battery hose complete with discs, screwdrivers, a glass-breaking hammer, material from burglary.
This operation is part of the intensification of checks in parking areas, which has already made it possible in recent days to arrest another person, who the officers do not rule out may be linked to the suspect. Investigations are underway to identify the accomplices.
