Civitavecchia, 40 year old arrested for extortion

A 40-year-old of Campania origins residing in Civitavecchia was arrested by the Financiers of the Provincial Command of Rome, after being found in possession of 500 euros received shortly before from a 22-year-old also from Civitavecchia. The young man had filed a complaint, reporting continuous threats from the man, burdened by several criminal records, who demanded cash payment of debts accrued towards him.

The Fiamme Gialle of the Civitavecchia Group, after informing the Public Prosecutor’s Office, photocopied the banknotes and set up an observation activity at the agreed place for the delivery of the money, in the historic centre. Stopped after having collected the sum, after a sudden attempt to escape from the military, the 40-year-old was handcuffed and transferred to the “Borgata Aurelia” prison. After the measure was validated by the Preliminary Investigation Judge, he was placed under house arrest, with the application of an “electronic bracelet”. He will have to answer for the crimes of extortion and resisting a public official. The proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase and, until the final judgment, the presumption of not guilt applies.
