FANO It would seem that anxiety over a nebulous fate rather than anger over relegation prevails as a feeling among Alma fans, as demonstrated by the many worried comments one comes across when taking a look on social media or taking a walk around Fano. The prospect of returning to the playing fields of a regional championship after 57 years certainly hurts, but there are those who fear that even participation in the Eccellenza is at risk.

The protest

The Panthers, one of the souls of the Granata fans, didn’t send it, who even on Sunday during the last match of the season bombarded president Guida with invectives, inviting him with chants and banners to leave. In short, the reassurances provided by the owner in last Friday’s press conference regarding the regularization of the financial issues with the members and the relaunch of the club either through the repechage or the move up to D on the pitch were of no use to that fringe of the Fano fans. Evidently they were not the only ones who didn’t believe him, if even in the stands during the match won against Real Monterotondo someone colorfully expressed the same thought to him, generating moments of tension.

The team’s outburst

Another attack was then launched in the press room at the end of the match by captain Urbinati, who on behalf of the team wanted to clarify some situations, practically contradicting what Guida had stated in the aforementioned conference. That is, there had been no negative pressure from the environment towards the group, which had actually always been able to count on the closeness and support of the public and the city despite the negative results. Even on the day of the very bitter verdict, sanctioned the week before in Avezzano, giving him unusual applause.

The index instead pointed to the club’s shortcomings, referring both to the current owner and to his predecessor Russo and to Mancini’s grotesque parenthesis, going so far as to use the term “embarrassing” to define what occurred outside the green rectangle from the summer training camp onwards. Footballers who, with the support of the Assocalciatori, continue to claim what they are owed, having received their last monthly salary in January. Not the only ones according to the claims of the former coach Cornacchini and his assistant Spendolini, to which would have been added those of the resigning general manager Petritola. That of the lawyer from Ascoli was an unexpected move, considering that they had arrived at Alma together.

For his part, Guida remains firm on his position, convinced that he can fix everything and start again with an ambitious project of no less than three years through collaborations already started in the area and beyond. An operation which, he announced, will however involve the appointment of non-local management figures. Insistent rumors in this sense indicated the former Ascoli and Fermana D’Angelo as the future sporting director, a rumor that Guida himself was keen to deny. Finally, it remains to be seen whether there will be any developments regarding the internal management after the chat held on Sunday in the stands with Dicuonzo and Storoni, respectively former manager of the technical area and former manager of the granata team.
