The Terni market will take place on Wednesday 1st May

TERNI – It’s Labor Day but it’s also a Wednesday. Sacred day for market enthusiasts, because it is the day on which the Terni market has taken place for years. And, surprise, the event doesn’t skip. The appointment is confirmed for Wednesday May 1st, despite it being a holiday. «The first time, I must say – explains Erika Camuzzi – but also the first time that we have asked the municipal administration to make an exception. Generally when an anniversary falls on a Wednesday, the market is brought forward to Tuesday, but at that point some of us are forced to give up because we are busy in other markets. And in any case sales are decreasing.”

The street vendors rejoice at the exception made. «It should also be considered that holding the market on a holiday means introducing ourselves to a new audience. Because there won’t just be the usual customers, but people from outside who, not working, decide to come and meet us” – hopes Nadia Leonardi. «Maybe some tourists visiting the waterfall stop at PalaTerni, who knows» – Camuzzi.

«A great opportunity» – the operators agree. «When, just over a month ago, we had to leave the field at the Solidarity match (Wednesday 20 March, ed.) anticipating the market to the 19th, there wasn’t much movement». Slow day, when the day shifts, in short. But on May 1st the market at PalaTerni will be there.
