FORTE DEI MARMI. In first place in the ranking of the richest municipalities in Tuscany is Lajatico – town in the province of Pisa with less than 1,300 inhabitants where he resides Andrea Bocelli – on the second there is Forte dei Marmi – where Bocelli has a home and a bathing establishment. Our municipality confirms itself at the top of the ranking drawn up by calculating the average per capita income of its citizens: 34,945 euros per head (in Lajatico, where Bocelli pays taxes, it is 52,955 euros).

If the distance from the first in the ranking is clear, the distance from the other Versilia municipalities is equally significant. In Viareggio taxpayers declare an average of 22,513 euros each. Pietrasanta follows with 21,794 and Camaiore 20,361. The others are all below twenty thousand: Massarosa 19,505, Seravezza 18,737 and Stazzema 16,700.

Based on data provided by the Ministry of Economy relating to 2022 tax returns, in Tuscany the total taxable income is just over 61 billion with approximately 2,770,000 taxpayers. The average taxable income per capita is 23,200 euros, an increase compared to the previous year when it was 22,000 euros. With an income equal to zero 63,425 taxpayers, 2.3% of the total.

Among the various income brackets, the one from 10 to 15 thousand euros per year is almost stable, the one from 15 thousand to 26 thousand euros is decreasing, and the one from 26 thousand to 55 thousand declared euros is growing. Among the provincial capitals, Siena has the highest average income with 28,224 euros, in fourth place in Tuscany (in third place, behind Forte, is Fiesole with 28,800 euros) followed by the municipalities of Montecarlo di Lucca, Bagno a Ripoli, Florence, Barga, Vaglia, Pisa, Impruneta, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Monteriggioni. Lucca is 19th place with an average income of 25 thousand euros, Livorno 22nd, Arezzo 29th, Carrara 38th, Pistoia 51st, Grosseto 78th, Prato 88th and Massa 118th. There are 46 municipalities above the regional average. In last place is Roccalbegna with an average income under 14 thousand euros.
