The uncertain weather does not stop tourism: for the Liberation Day long weekend on April 25th, a total of 79% of the rooms available online were booked. Overall, approximately 5.6 million visitors are expected in official accommodation facilities between today and Sunday, 400 thousand more than in 2023.

This is what emerges from the usual survey carried out by the Tourist Studies Center for Assoturismo Confesercenti on the main online booking platforms.

“It is travelers from the Bel Paese who prevail for these holidays – observes Fabrizio Vagnini, Rimini provincial Confesercenti president -, even if foreign visitors remain crucial for the growth of tourist flows. In fact, on average foreign demand accounts for 56% of total tourism in the month of April”.

For Liberation Day, the cities of art once again confirm themselves as queens of Italian tourism: in cultural centers the room booking rate stands at as high as 89% of availability.

According to the data from the CST-Assoturismo survey, a positive trend is also expected for the other types of products: in the structures of the hilly and rural areas it rises on average to 84%, while for the seaside and lake resorts it rises to 79% and 78%. This is followed by spa resorts (77%) and mountain resorts (69%).

Among the regions at the top of the preferences of traveling tourists, this year we find Umbria and Lazio with a booking rate of 89%, Liguria (86%), Tuscany and Campania with 85%, Friuli-Venezia Giulia (84%), Veneto (83%) and Emilia-Romagna (83%).
