Celebration in Ragusa city on April 25th in the presence of local authorities. The day began with a ceremony in Piazza Gramsci, where, amid the ringing of bells and the smell of red carnations, a solemn laurel wreath was placed at the foot of the Stele of the Unification of Italy. Here, citizens of all ages gathered to pay homage to the fallen and to renew their commitment to the values of the Resistance.
After the emotional initial moment, the procession formed, coloring the main streets of Ragusa with tricolor flags and solidarity chants. Crossing Viale Tenente Lena, Via Roma and Corso Vittorio Veneto, the procession carried with it the spirit of liberation, guiding the participants towards a place of memory and reflection.
Arrived in Piazza San Giovanni, a last collective moment. Here, under the blue spring sky, the Prefect, the Mayor and the Police Commissioner laid a laurel wreath at the War Memorial, while an Italian flag waved proudly. Photos and videos by Salvo Bracchitta
