Hi, I’m Gianluca and this is it Porticoesthe Sunday roundup of the most interesting news of the week. Porticoes because the news is all Bolognese, like the porticoes; Porticoes because the event is on Sunday, like a walk under the arcades of the center or towards San Luca; Porticoes because the review is a short and direct passage, like the porticoes, which leads to the center of the city’s news.

Damn

It’s been a dark week from a road safety point of view. In recent days, in fact, four people have lost their lives in accidents in Bologna and its province. In Monzuno, Wednesday 1 May, a 33-year-old mother lost her life in a collision with another car. The woman, who was driving, also had her minor son and her 18-year-old sister in the car. The woman, Debora Natali, died instantly. The son and sister were hospitalized at Maggiore in Bologna. In Pianoro, a 76-year-old man, Vittorino Gamberi, lost his life in a road accident while he was driving his motorbike. Same fate for the young Manuel Bedonni, a 25-year-old who died in an accident on Porrettana while riding his motorcycle. The latest death concerns a 36-year-old, Acref Zamami, who died after being hit by a car while riding his electric scooter.

There were no deaths in the two accidents that occurred on May 2nd. The first in Altedo, where two cars collided: both drivers were transported to Maggiore in Bologna. The second accident occurred on the motorway, and involved five vehicles.

Emergency landing

Only a lot of fear, fortunately, for the passengers of the Bologna-Paris flight on May 2nd. The Vueling airline plane left at 8.30pm but after a few minutes it was forced to return to Marconi due to a fault with one of the engines.

Strike

Several public transport strikes are planned for Sunday 5 and Monday 6 May. The staff of the FS Group, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord will go on strike on Sunday. The strike is proclaimed by the trade union CAT for the contractual renewal. On Monday, however, the grassroots unions announced a 24-hour national strike for the local public transport sector.

Discovery

On the morning of April 28, a sinister call arrived at the Bologna police station regarding the discovery of some human bones in via Vallescura, in Bologna. The police went to the wooded area following a phone call from a woman: the day before, her son and another boy noticed presumably human remains while they were taking a walk.

Reduced speed

This has been another week where traffic has been discussed. Stone of the scandal, the new speed camera on Viale Berti-Pichat. This is the first of 5 stations authorized by the Prefecture in July 2023. The other devices will be activated in the coming months in viale Ilic Uljanov Lenin, viale Sergio Cavina, viale Palmiro Togliatti and viale Vittorio Sabena.

Sports Sunday

Bologna takes another step towards the goal called the Champions League: 1-1 away against Torino. After a record year, Fortitudo returns to the field today for the A2 playoffs: tap-off at 6pm against Treviglio. Shortly afterwards, Virtus Bologna is also on the pitch and takes on Trento at 6.15pm.
