Lamezia Terme – Presented in the Council Room “Mons. Luisi”, group C of the Five-a-side Football Regions Tournament which, as is known, this year will be held in Calabria from 25 April to 1 May. Ten cities, including, of course, Lamezia Terme, from four different provinces that will be the location for the important youth event which will be held again in our region a few years after the edition in that case reserved for eleven-a-side football. A tournament that will involve over 1300 people including athletes, managers, technicians and referees. There were 127 matches spread across fourteen arenas. We remind you that the Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 men’s teams, as well as the women’s team, coming from the various Italian regions, will compete on the various parquets involved.

Antonio Caroleo, representing the Regional Committee of the LND, in greeting all the young athletes present in the audience, thanked the municipal administrations of Lamezia and Amantea, the three city five-a-side football clubs, namely Royal Team, Ecosistem and Icierre, Futsal Amantea and Next Atlas, the latter as manager of the PalaSparti, as well as the Aia Sections of Paola and Lamezia, which will make the referees available for this group. A Calabrian association of disabled children will instead draw up twenty of them, associating each of them with a region, who will give life, on an experimental basis, to the parallel, as well as virtual, e-sport tournament. Sixty of the ninety group stage matches will be broadcast live on the Lnd YouTube channel. The subsequent phase, with direct elimination, will instead be covered entirely by the thematic channel Futsal TV. The Under 19 men’s final will even be broadcast live on Sky.
