Among the victims there was also a man from Como

There is also a boy from Como, who at the time of the events was not yet 18 years old, among the victims of the 13 penitentiary police officers of the “Beccaria” juvenile prison accused by the Milan prosecutor’s office of torture, injuries, false documents damage to a dozen detained children. The news, which broke out in the last few hours, involves not only the 13 arrested but also eight other officers who have been suspended from duty and who are registered in the register of suspects.

Among the victims of torture, as mentioned, also an Italian boy from Como, who on 22 December 2022 was beaten by three officers in a closet, an attack that ended up as a crime and which ended with the young man being hospitalized to the emergency room of San Carlo in Milan. In the pages of the shocking investigation, it would also appear – in the medical report carried out after the beating – the imprint of a boot left on the back of the head of the seventeen-year-old from Como.

Known to the police

The latter is a character known to the local police force, over the years he had ended up in an affair involving a very active baby gang in the city and had created problems even when he had been placed in a reception community from which he continued to escape, ending up back in prison as a tightening of the measure.

Certainly, as mentioned, on 22 December 2022 he was at Beccaria and was also in isolation for disciplinary proceedings. That day, however, the seventeen-year-old from Como had started banging on the bars, claiming to have ended his isolation. This, according to what is alleged by three of the thirteen officers (for whom prison was ordered), had caused the reaction of the men of the penitentiary Erasmo Matteo Gusman (30 years old), Mario Pisano (48 years old) and Roberto Mastronicola (26 years old) , who had led the seventeen-year-old into a room and then began (according to the prosecution) the beating.

Thrown to the ground

The boy from Como had been slapped, then thrown to the ground and punched in the face by one of the three officers, while the others held him back. He was then handcuffed behind his back and despite this still beaten on the head, with a shoe that left a mark and an imprint on the back of his neck. The minor was treated in hospital with copious blood loss and bruises. The three officers are accused of abusing their powers in violation of their duties, having acted with cruelty by inflicting serious and repeated violence and threats on the victim, causing him physical suffering and psychological trauma, all in the context of “inhuman and degrading treatment” .

The Milan prosecutor’s office also contests the injuries and the forgery in the service report that was then drawn up. However, this is only one of the many episodes described by the precautionary measure that led 13 “Beccaria” agents to prison.
