He presented himself last night, in the context of Villa Raggio, Giuseppe Carinicandidate for mayor on the civic list “With us we change Pontenure”. Carini, 68 years old, has been retired since last September. He has held various jobs: scientific pharmaceutical informant, technician in the agronomic department of a food processing company, support teacher and then middle school mathematics teacher.
«I was born in the shadow of the tower, I have always lived in Pontenure», the mayoral candidate talks about himself. Director thirty years ago, he has recently held the role of minority advisor. Now he will be at the helm of a “centrist” civic list, “which runs freely, without parties”. His is a “heterogeneous team, with twenty-year-olds and more experienced people: we cover different professions and different sectors”.
After last night’s presentation evening at Villa Raggio, the list will organize meetings in the hamlets of Muradello (29 April), Valconasso (3 May). «Pontenure has excellent facilities – explains the candidate – but in recent years there has been a lack of transparency and sharing. Often the choices were made from above. We need greater involvement of the people of Pontenure in decisions. We know that it is complicated to involve people because we live in an era in which politics is seen everywhere as a “bad thing”, but we try.”
For Carini the main themes of his program will be traffic, decorum, cleanliness, safety. «In the last fifteen years, Pontenure has become the first municipality on the outskirts of Piacenza to be invaded by logistics. We have international-level companies in the area, we need to collaborate with them to improve the care of spaces and traffic. The Ptav, the Vasta Area territorial plan, has granted exemptions for two ring roads. On the security front I can say that in the last week alone two people were mugged, we need to improve the situation.”
Also on the agenda is the creation of a youth center for adolescents. «Pontenure has the oratory that welcomes young people up to middle school, but those in high school do not have meeting spaces dedicated to them. We also want to create listening centers for problematic situations, for lonely people who have no one to turn to or victims of violence. Among the objectives is also to improve collaboration with voluntary associations in the area. We would like to cultivate greater care of the greenery and improve the town’s tree heritage.” The program also includes the creation of cycle and pedestrian paths connected with those of neighboring towns.
