Circular economy: mapping of virtuous experiences available

It is available and downloadable online the publication of the In Cibo Civitas project, curated by Slow Food, “CIRCULAR CITY SELFIE – Stories of the changemakers who are shaping our territories”

It is a story of local experiences of Circular Economy applied to FOOD and sustainable, fair and inclusive food systems, examples of an alternative approach to the comfort zone offered by the linear economy, bearers of change or changemakers, who use fewer resources and in a regenerative, which reduce environmental impacts and social distances, which identify new entrepreneurial languages and explain how important it is to treat food as a common good.

In their stories it is possible to find ways to fuel the culture of innovation underlying the circular model and counteract the state of global ecological crisis we are experiencing.

It is a selfie made of changemakers who are “curving” our territories: its understanding represents the challenge of the future, necessary to work on the multiple cognitive and value reference frameworks present locally as an expression of a circular economy applied to food and translate them into a connective language, capable of expressing common projects and political strategies that can be duplicated in other contexts.

Among these “Selfies”, we find the Cucine Popolari of Cesena who, also thanks to this publication, tour Italy presenting their reality to the territories as a replicable model.

What we eat and drink is who we are and through food we can do our part to positively impact the future of the environment and the economy, challenge the climate crisis and global social tensions. Because food has to do with all this, and much more.
