GS CARREFOUR VICTORIA AF LOGISTICS WORKERS OF RIVALTA

Important union agreement reached for the truck drivers of the Gs Carrefour site in Rivalta hired with Af Logistics, who obtain an initial salary increase to deal with the high cost of living by improving their living and working conditions.

Thanks to the demands that our trade union organization has been carrying out for a year for all the truck drivers of the Turin logistics platform (where last February 23rd there was a general strike against war and war economy, for free Palestine) the workers have obtained:

– PREMIUM of 60 euros per month, based on attendance
– BONUS of 20 euros for each Saturday worked
– INCREASE in overtime hours in the flat rate agreement
– INCREASE in the inconvenience allowance for overnight stays on the truck

Coming into force while GS Carrefour is hit by the seizure of 65 million euros for tax evasion and fictitious procurement contracts following a judicial investigation, this improvement agreement is important because it introduces wage increases for truck drivers: a hard-hit working class category from a continuous loss of salary and the lengthening of the working day.

Our agreement finally overcomes the negative economic conditions introduced with the 2009 flat rate agreement signed by the confederal unions, which for Af Logistics truck drivers have remained unchanged in all these years despite double-digit inflation.

As SI Cobas we continue to demand salary increases with:
– a real annual performance bonus
– the definitive overcoming of the flat rate agreement in favor of the discontinuous week (even more so considering the fact that truck drivers now work regularly on Saturday and Sunday too)

Furthermore, we continue to intervene to respect the safety of workers to defend their health, both in the unloading areas and on means of transport: people’s lives are worth more than goods and profit.

… It is time, even as truck drivers, to join the struggles of logistics workers to recover what has been lost in recent years (in the last 30 years, salaries in Italy have never grown and indeed decreased): by organizing ourselves in the workplace to obtain strong salary increases, reduction of the working day and more rights (including freedom of association).

UNITED WE WIN
