“Stop precariousness”, the CGIL in the streets to collect signatures for the referendum on work
Descriptive text here

The CGIL launches the campaign to collect signatures for work; the objectives: stop precariousness, more security in contracts, protection against illegitimate dismissals and repeal of the contract with increasing protections provided for by the Jobs Act. “We will be in the squares and in the assemblies to present the four referendum questions on work filed by CGIL, with 500 thousand signatures for each question we will get to the popular vote next spring – explains Maria Giorgini General Secretary of CGIL Forlì Cesena – the collection of signatures will begin on a symbolic date, we want to build a path for safe, stable, dignified and protected work”.

To be able to sign, you will only need to have an identification document (identity card or driving licence). It will also be possible to sign online via the platform on the CGIL website. The collection of signatures officially begins in the province of Forlì-Cesena too: on the occasion of Liberation Day, 25 April, we will be in Forlì-Parco Franco Agosto, in Cesena-Giardini Serravalle and in Santa Sofia-Sala Mille Luci starting from 3pm; in the morning, from 10.00 to 12.30, we will be in Dovadola, Castrocaro Terme and Portico/San Benedetto during the Oh Bella Ciao…25 April 2024 initiatives. In Cesenatico you can sign for the referendums on Thursday 25 April, from 11 to 15 in the Park Levante and Friday 26 April from 8pm at the Maritime Museum, during the meeting on the Constitution organized by the Anpi. On the Cgil Forlì Cesena websites and social networks we will publish the calendar of initiatives where it will be possible to sign.

The four questions

To give all workers the right to reinstatement in the workplace in the event of illegitimate dismissal. What do you want to delete? The Jobs Act’s dismissal rules allow companies not to reinstate an unlawfully dismissed worker if they were hired after 2015.

To increase protection against illegitimate dismissals for workers who work in companies with fewer than fifteen employees. What do you want to delete? The maximum compensation limit in the event of unjustified dismissal in small companies, so that the judge can determine the right compensation without any limit.

To overcome the precariousness of employment contracts. What do you want to delete? The liberalization of fixed-term contracts to limit their use to specific and temporary reasons.

To make work safer in the procurement system. What do you want to delete? The rule which excludes the joint and several liability of client companies in contracting and subcontracting in the event of accident or professional illness of the worker.
