Grosseto. The AdF shareholders’ meeting, which met on Wednesday 24 April, approved unanimously the results for the 2023 financial yeardeveloped in the name of sustainability and innovation.

A positive balance sheet, which consolidates the company’s growth path of the last five years with over 48 million in investments carried out in 2023 for the benefit of the community and the territory, of which approximately 40 million aligned with the European Union taxonomy (over 82%), for a total of 643 million in overall investments since the start of the concession. The average investment per inhabitant served has reached 128 euros per year, compared to an estimated Italian average for 2023 of 70 euros (source: Blue Book).

The 2023 financial year is part of an industrial transformation strategy, defined in the AdF 2023-2025 plan, based on the ecological and energy transition and the result of effective economic and financial management. This has allowed us to create a model capable of integrating ESG objectives into business strategies, promoting the sustainable development of the territory.

The assembly, in which he participated 89.79% of the members, it was also the opportunity to preview the Sustainability Report 2023the annual reporting which has now become a fundamental moment for AdF to transparently and accurately describe its sustainability performance and its social and governance commitment.

Thanks to the investments made, network losses in 2023 they stand at 36.2%, with a reduction of more than 10% in the last five years, equal to 27 million cubic meters of water saved. Last year, 2,036 kilometers of the network were subjected to leak detection using acoustic techniques, with 1,031 hidden leaks identified for an estimated total flow rate of 609.2 l/s. The activity of district division and digitalisation of networks also continues and grows, also through advanced sensors and decision support platforms, which allows losses to be precisely identified, reducing intervention times and the number of users involved. Thanks to investments in predictive maintenance, which uses advanced monitoring devices on the plants, AdF is also able to anticipate the necessary maintenance, with consequent cost optimization. Also in 2023, 31 kilometers of water and sewerage networks were replaced.

Energy consumption was reduced by approximately 2,800 MWh, also thanks to efficiency measures and production from renewable sources, equal to approximately 870.07 tonnes of CO2 saved.

On the water quality front they were over 200 parameters checked on average every day on drinking water, with 73,624 parameters analyzed in a year, and 117 parameters checked per day on waste water, for a total of 43,062 parameters analysed.

In an area of ​​high environmental value one third the size of Tuscany (7,586 km2), with 10,221 km of networks and 2,821 plants, compared to a population density of 52 inhabitants/km2 (the Italian average is around 200 inhabitants/km2) , infrastructural renewal and technological innovation are necessary to deal with the effects of climate changes, guarantee a high quality of service and respect for the environment.

Just think of the investments in purification and the importance of remote control, together with the protection of water resources, the circular economy, digitalisation and new customer services.

The profit produced in the 2023 financial year amounts to 17.94 million euros and will be allocated to the reserve for approximately 12.5 million, of which the majority is tied to the implementation of investments (FONI) for over 12.2 million. The amount that will be paid to members amounts to 5.4 million.
