GROTTAZZOLINA – It will be an April 25th to remember in Grottazzolina.
Yuasa Battery is close to the dream of promotion to the Super League and in Fermo there is no talk of anything else. Final still to be played, moment of maximum concentration.
In Game 1 coach Ortenzi’s team defeated Siena 3-0. Race 2 will take place tomorrow in Tuscany (start at 7pm). This is the first match ball for Yuasa Battery. Opportunity to close the series and toast. D
in Grottazzolina a real exodus towards Siena is announced. The figures testify to the excitement experienced in the town of 3,193 inhabitants which is touching the sky with a finger and wants to rewrite the history of local volleyball made up of 54 years of tradition.
Siena made 300 tickets available to the Yuasa Battery, which obviously were not enough: in 4 hours of pre-sale, settled at the PalaGrotta box office, 352 tickets were booked.
A solution will be found to please everyone, 500 of those needed, president Rossano Romiti is working on this.
Three buses dedicated to the trip, a dozen 9-seater minibuses, numerous private cars. A snake of fans in the true sense of the word, led by the mayor Alberto Antognozzi. Many will leave at dawn to experience the emotions drop by drop.
The organized cheering buses, however, will leave at 12.30 from the historic center of Grottazzolina (in front of the Roxy Bar). Anyone left without a ticket has already purchased one online and will obviously not be able to benefit from the discounts provided for Grottazzolina fans. All things considered, therefore, the shipment leaving from the Marche region headed to Tuscany can be quantified at 500 units. Everyone close to the team, everyone experiencing the emotions of a historic moment for Grottazzolina and Marche sport.
“I will also be present in Siena to support our team – underlines Alberto Antognozzi, mayor of Grottazzolina – together with many people from Grotto, proud to represent the town on a day that is already historic and which, fingers crossed, can become legendary and unforgettable for Grottazzolina and the whole territory”.
Fabio Luna, president of Coni Marche, experiences Yuasa Battery’s great moment first hand: “My compliments to the company and the team for an excellent season. Now there is very little left to make the dream come true. I’m going from memory, but it would be a historical record for a town of 3,200 inhabitants in the top volleyball championship. I have seen Yuasa Battery’s matches several times this season, there is every means to overcome even this last obstacle. Come on guys”.
Thus Fabio Franchini, president of the Fipav regional committee: “I was able to attend several championship matches, I was always able to appreciate the work of the company and the warm atmosphere of the public, stimulated by the events of the Yuasa Battery. I admired a group of deserving and capable players, I saw them united and the team cohesive in the environment that surrounds them. Now let’s put the icing on this cake with a well-deserved promotion.”
And also comes the push from the regional councilor Andrea Putzu, Grotese by adoption: “I want to wish the best of luck to the guys from Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina who are writing the history of the province of Fermo and the Marche. This group managed to involve fans from across our province and the region who consistently followed the matches both in the championship and in the playoffs.” Regional councilor Marco Marinangeli has also already guaranteed his presence in Siena: “Congratulations to Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina for having deserved the final against Siena with talent and passion which will decide its promotion to the Super League. Regardless of the result that will arrive, and for which we immediately wish good luck to coach Ortenzi’s team, it is important to highlight how the Yuasa Battery has managed with its sporting merits to animate an entire territory and to give a great prominence throughout the Fermo area and the Marche”.
