Last moments in Siena of the celebrations in honor of Saint Catherine for 2024. The program includes for today, at 3 pm in via XXV Aprile in Siena, the floral tribute to the statue of the Saint by the Institutions, Associations, lay groups, and the parishes of the diocese. At 4 pm, in the Basilica of San Domenico in Siena, the mass with the “confirmation of the creed” for the confirmed and confirmands of the diocese, presided over by Msgr. Lorenzo Leuzzi, bishop of Teramo – Atri and concelebrated by card. Augusto Paolo Lojudice, bishop of Siena-Colle di Val D’Elsa-Montalcino. At 5.30 pm the procession will depart from the Basilica of San Domenico towards the Campo where the Cardinal’s speeches will be held. Lojudice, by the mayor of Siena Nicoletta Fabio, by mons. Leuzzi, and the mayor of Assisi Stefania Proietti. At the end the blessing with the relic of the Saint and flag of the districts.
Sunday 5 May at 9.30 am, departure of the procession of the districts from the Town Hall towards the sanctuary-House of Santa Caterina, where at 10 am the traditional offering of oil for the votive lamp which this year is offered by the Municipality will be held of Teramo, representing the Municipalities of Italy, and the Municipality of Castellina In Chianti, representing the municipalities of the diocese.
