Benevento: honorary degrees to Gigi D’Alessio and Enzo Avitabile

The Benevento Conservatory announces the imminent awarding of two prestigious Honorary Degrees.
The first will be awarded to the singer-songwriter Gigi D’Alessio, awarded by virtue of his contribution to the Pop discipline for Songwriting. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday 30 April at the Teatro Comunale of Benevento, starting at 7 pm.
Entry will be by invitation only, invitation tickets will be available for free collection at the Conservatory according to methods that will be communicated in the next few days.
The second Honorary Degree – as announced on the occasion of the concert in which he was the protagonist alongside the “Nicola Sala” Orchestra – will be awarded to the musician and composer Enzo Avitabile; the award ceremony will take place in mid-May, in Popular composition and arrangement.
Satisfaction on the part of the Director Giuseppe Ilario, who commented: “We are pleased to offer such prestigious awards to Gigi D’Alessio and Enzo Avitabile, both artists with long and brilliant careers. These Honorary Degrees testify to our commitment, as a Conservatory, in recognize, enhance and promote the plurality of artistic languages ​​existing in the contemporary musical panorama”. President Caterina Meglio followed the same line, adding: “Gigi d’Alessio and Enzo Avitabile, each with their own style, have been able to achieve great success. thanks to their ability to transform complex emotions into engaging lyrics and melodies. Their music has crossed cultural and linguistic boundaries, inspiring a sense of belonging and sharing between people of different origins and backgrounds.”
