Not Verstappen, not the Ferraris of Sainz or Leclerc but Lando Norris. First sharp in F1 for the English driver who wins the Miami Grand Prix, sixth round of the World Championship. A perfect strategy aided by luck which put him out of action on lap 29 Sargeant bringing in the Safety Car which rewarded the choice of McLaren to stall for the pit. Behind Norris, beaten, Max Verstappen with Red Bull less on the ball than usual. For them Ferrari the consolation with the podium of Charles Leclerc that preceded Carlos Sainz author of a great overtaking at the end on Oscar Piastri.
Andrea Stella, McLaren team principal, Ferrari school, also toasts with Norris’ first success. Instead, the other Red Bull ends up behind the reds Perezwith finally a great Lewis Hamilton which puts Mercedes in 6th place ahead of Tsunoda with the Racing Bulls, the other silver arrow of RussellThen Alonso who in the final managed to take two points ahead of Alpine Or with which gets his first point.
MIAMI GRAND PRIX, THE RACE – Verstappen As always, he gets off to a great start from pole. The Ferrari instead they mess up behind his back. Leclerc gets off to a bad start Sainz slips it but it is Perez shuffling the cards with an absurd braking, the Mexican goes long and ends up penalizing the Spaniard, Leclerc regains 2nd place and Piastri with a great move gets into the red.
With the mediums the McLarens flyIt took Piastri a few laps to pass Leclerc who seemed to be struggling. Sainz then insistently asks via radio for the “pass” to overtake his teammate but the ok does not arrive. AND Carlos groans. In the meantime, Max tries to escape but doesn’t succeed, behind them they’re going as fast or almost the same.
The time for the pit stop is approaching but not for everyone. First to stop Perez, shortly after Leclerc stopped in the 20th, perhaps too early. Meanwhile, Verstappen hits a stake, no damage to his Red Bull but in the 24th he prefers to change tires. At the 28th he touches Piastri and Sainz. Only Norris remains in front and flies with the media as he did throughout the weekend.
Lando is rewarded by fate. Which has the appearance of Magnussen who commits yet another blunder of the weekend by coming in hard on Sargeant and knocking him out. Safety Car on track and gift for Norris who changes while remaining ahead of everyone: Max, Leclerc, Piastri and Sainz.
On the restart Verstappen tries to threaten Norris but fails and the Englishman goes away. Leclerc holds third position despite the risk of having stopped before everyone else. They think about putting on a show Plates And Sainz. Carlos claims an unorthodox closure by the Australian but with less than 20 laps to go he manages to overtake complete with a collision with Piastri who ends up being passed by Perez and Hamilton too and is forced into the pits to change the wing finishing last .
At the front, however, Lando Norris can toast his first top podium in F1 ahead of Verstappen, Leclerc and Sainz.
