The man suspected of being the perpetrator of the scam against an elderly woman has been identified and reported by the police. The man resident in Naples is already known to the police for various scams against elderly people using the “call from the nephew who needs money” technique. The complaint filed by a local 80-year-old ended with the identification of the man hosted at his daughter’s house. The facts date back to a phone call received by the woman on the home device, where on the other end of the phone, the interlocutor pretended to be her young nephew who needed a sum of money to collect an imaginary package stored at the post office and that the elderly lady should have delivered it to a second person, a friend of her nephew, who would have been waiting for her outside the house. The fact is that the attempted scam fortunately did not end well as the royal nephew and her son-in-law showed up on site.
