Giro d’Italia Plogging: 113 kg of waste collected in Asti

The Giro d’Italia Plogging returned to Asti successfully, bringing the first Asti Plogging Challenge which involved participants of all ages, with headquarters at the headquarters of the Polisportiva CR Asti. Organized by Lo Sport è Vita ODV and the Polisportiva CR Asti, directed by Claudia Solaro and Celestina Piazzolla, with the fundamental support of Banca di Asti and Fondazione Social, the event saw families, friends and lovers of sport and ‘environment participate with enthusiasm.

The participants got busy and cleaned up the city for an hour and a half, divided into different groups with four distinct destinations, the four nearest branches of the Bank of Asti (in Piazza I Maggio, in Corso Alessandria, in Corso Casale in via Ugo Foscolo) by independently choosing the outward and return route to be cleaned. The activity lasted an hour and a half and approximately 113 kg of waste was collected, including bottles, plastic, cans and more.

Present were the deputy mayor Stefania Morra, Ivan Ferrero, mayor of Mombercelli and councilor of the province of Asti, and Lavinia Saracco, CONI Asti delegate.
With the Asti stage of the Giro d’Italia Plogging 2024 Asti will contribute to the “Piantando” project with the planting of a tree and has had connections with other stages of the Giro d’Italia Plogging, promoting union in the name of sport and environmental sustainability .
