Cavina: “A fast Vanoli is needed against Milan”

CREMONA – Vanoli prepares the double party. First on the pitch with the intention of playing the last great performance of the season against Milan, then together with their fans.
A leave that Demis Cavina he wants to face at the top even if with a bit of regret.
«It’s a shame – says the biancoblù coach – that the season is over. It was another great season especially when you have the daily pleasure of working with a close-knit group, which has a work ethic and with a staff with which there is great synergy. For my part there is a bit of sadness despite the sensational results. We want to close it in the best way possible, with another worthy performance from this group. We saw Adrian again but I don’t know if he will play. The climate was not like that of the last week, we carried out regular work in terms of intensity.”

Against Milan a more than deserved parade for these two years of success.
«I hope it will be a Sunday of celebration in the stands not only for the third time announced at the end of the match. I hope it’s the same on the field. I’m sure the team will have the right spirit despite the difficulties we faced. We also tried to speed up the pace in Pesaro. We defended well for 35 minutes, then we paid a bit at the end. It was necessary to play like this and I think the same thing will happen against Milan.”

Will you say anything to the boys before the race?
«No, maybe I will eventually but honestly I talk to the kids every day and we don’t need motivational speeches. Probably as happens in all seasons I will say something but I want to leave the thought to when it will happen. We need to put aside emotion, we need to be clear-headed. We will leave room for emotions, which will not be lacking, only at the end.”

Vanoli had to deal with particular injury situations.
«We recorded a series of very particular traumatic injuries, not least Denegri’s finger, but the team was good at finding the energy. It’s not a trivial aspect.”

If we took a step back on each individual player, are you in line with what you predicted at the beginning of the season?
«Yes, when I talk about my work and my sphere I am always very demanding and I struggle to say that the objectives have been achieved, especially if they concern children. At the beginning of the year there was talk of reaching certain statistical figures and almost everyone emerges improved in technical terms. It’s another small satisfaction for the staff. I can’t say if we have achieved all the objectives but the work led everyone to be better. Many will be in the limelight, we know that someone may go away from Cremona in the future, but this can happen. An incredible job has been done and I am fortunate to work with a great staff.”
