In the evenings of Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th April two concerts featuring the protagonist will take place in Pisa Niccolo Paganini.
The Municipality of Pisa, in collaboration with the State Archives of Pisa and the Fanny Mendelssohn association, organized the event “Paganini does an encore“.
Next Wednesday the evening will be held in the stucco hall of Palazzo Toscanelli which hosts theState Archives and will start at 9pm with free entry while seats last.
The program includes a historical journey regarding the violin technique in the period before Niccolò Paganini named after “Paganini in the Archive” which will be described by the violinist Marco Fornaciari who will also perform some tracks by B. Marini, JS Bach, G. Tartini, K. Stamitz, GB Viotti and N. Paganini. Following this, some famous compositions by Paganini himself will be performed such as the 4 Capricci, the Carnival of Venice and the Lucca Sonata. On occasion it will be an original letter from the famous violinist is on displaydated 1839, preserved in the Carmignani collection at the State Archives.

The artistic direction of the Fanny Mendelssohn association proposes the concert “Paganini in jazz”dedicated to the figure of Niccolò Paganini with theSouthern Sounds Orchestradirected by the maestro Roberto Molinelli and, as violin soloist, the maestro Ettore Pellegrino.
The concert includes the alternation of the classical performance of Paganini’s Capricci, accompanied by the orchestra, with the rewriting of each of them in a jazz version.
