Despite the weather challenges and demanding stages, insurer Marco Donati is determined to explore Italy on two wheels, supported by his sponsors and his passion for cycling adventure

Marco Donati, 60 years old, insurer and soon to be retired, is preparing for an epic cycling adventure that will take him from the center of Varese to Sardinia, crossing the whole of Italyincluding Sicily.

His passion for cycling dates back to his youth and he finally decided to realize his long-time dream. “I have always had a passion for cycling since I was a kid and I had been thinking about this trip for a long time, until, in the end, I planned and organized it,” explains Marco. “I chose to travel alone because I like the thought of having my time available.”

The trip will consist of 18 stages, with around 2,500 kilometers to cover and a difference in altitude of 25,000 metres. Every 3/4 stages, Marco will make a stop to recharge his energy. “The trip will last about three weeks, but it’s not a race for me“, points out.

The bicycle, a faithful companion on this adventure, has been carefully equipped with everything necessary, from bags containing tools and supplements, to spare cycling clothing. Additionally, it features a GoPro camera, Bluetooth switching, and wireless technology.

Despite the concerns for them weather conditions and the weight of the undertaking, Marco is ready to face this challenge with spirit of adventure. The adventure for Marco Donati is about to begin and all that remains is to wish him good luck, in the hope that the weather will allow him to pedal in a peaceful and pleasant way.
