From championship joy to a chance: Berisha returns to the Mapei Stadium

The Reggio Emilia stadium will forever be a special place for Lecce and for Medon Berisha. It was there that the Giallorossi celebrated their third Primavera championship (Hasic’s goal in the 122nd minute in the final against Fiorentina) and Berisha, wearing the number 10 shirt, was one of the driving forces behind that team. After the Italian success, the 20-year-old moved permanently to the first team, gaining the respect of Roberto D’Aversa first and then Luca Gotti. With the technician from Pescara, Berisha made his debut in the Italian Cup (Lecce-Parma), entering the match in progress in the home defeat against Inter.

Gotti, after the words of esteem expressed in one of his first conferences as technical guide of the Salento team, granted him some playing time at San Siro against Milan. After two vernissages against as many big names in the championship, Berisha could be called into action in one important clash for the search for the objective of salvation. The opponent is Sassuolo and it will be played at the Mapei Stadium, the scene of the apotheosis of the boys coached by Coppitelli.

With Kaba now out until the end of the season, the week leading up to the match in Emilia was characterized by the stoppage of Ramadani, Berisha’s compatriot and friend, who was out for two training sessions due to pharyngitis. In the economy of rotations for the midfield department, the moment for Berisha will certainly come. Starting, most likely, from Reggio Emilia and the Mapei Stadium.
