Sant’Alberto Atlas Robur wins the FIPAV Cremona Lodi Scudetto at the end of a real battle with DueC Podenzana

A truly compelling match that took place last night at the Palazzetto di San Bassano, a worthy conclusion to a splendid season. The two best teams in the first division championship faced each other amidst the applause of the large crowd and, after having won promotion to Serie D, challenged each other openly to put the 2024 FIPAV Cremona Lodi Scudetto in their trophy cabinet.

Raising their arms to the sky was the Lodi team of GSO Sant’Alberto who after five very long sets (3-2 / 25-15, 17-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13) snatched the 2024 pennant in a comeback .

However, the victory was far from simple for coach Mattia Treglia’s girls who, although they went into high gear in the first set, had to deal with the crescendo of DueC Volleyball. In fact, Ronca and her teammates enter the match decisively from the second set, first sealing the draw (25-15, 17-25) then dragging the match to a tie break (21-25).

The battle becomes truly fierce in the short set which saw coach Roberto Mosconi’s team immediately take the lead (1-6). However, in the key moment Sant’Alberto finds a vehement reaction and with a break from 8-0 (6-8 ) reverses the partial. DueC tries hard to regain momentum (10-10 / 12-12) but the clarity of the Lodi players in the final exchanges holds the balance (15-13).

This 2024 Scudetto Final was a noteworthy event which showcased the level of the two finalists, thrilling the entire public as underlined by the mayor of San Bassano Joseph Pope who in concert with the FIPAV President Cremona Lodi Marco Spozio they complimented themselves on the great race that took place and on the organization of the event by Volleyball DueC also thanking the company K-Volleyball for logistical support.
