The request has been sent to the Irpinia prosecutor’s office, next week guarantee interviews for the resigning mayor and the other two arrested

The documents of the investigation which led to the arrest of the resigning mayor of Avellino, Gianluca Festa, of the former municipal manager of the Public Works and Productive Activities sector Filomena Smiraglia and the former architect Fabio Guerrierobrother of the city councilor Diego (investigated together with the deputy mayor Laura Nargi, entrepreneurs and professionals), will be handed over to Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission who today officially made a request to the Irpinia Prosecutor’s Office led by Domenico Airoma.

The acts

The parliamentary body, when it receives the documents from Avellino, will be able to start further investigations into the investigation also request a hearing of the magistrates or judicial police personnel who are carrying out the investigations. The Avellino Prosecutor’s Office, in the meantime, has confirmed that the entire documentation will be sent to Rome «in the shortest possible time».

Meanwhile, next Tuesday – April 23 – the guarantee interrogations are scheduled for both the former mayor and for Smiraglia and Fabio Guerriero.
Gianluca Festa is under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office for crimes of corruption, controlled competitions, irregularities in assignments and contracts, misdirection, tampering with evidence and revelation of official secrecy.
