«Those advanced on the Bridge are physiological reminders in this preliminary investigation phase. However, we are ready to respond and provide clarifications legitimately requested. We are calm, in fact it is a sign that the process for the realization of the work is progressing and with tight deadlines”.
This was said by the managing director of the Stretto di Messina company, Pietro Ciucci, guest in the editorial office, accompanied by the board member of the same company, Ida Angela Nicotra, during a forum organized by Sicily to take stock of the mother of all works. Ciucci showed himself confident that this is the right time for the Bridge after the pen drawn in 2012 by the then prime minister Mario Monti.
«Many things have changed in the meantime, especially on the financial level of Italy – observed Ciucci – although I regret the fact that while we have remained at a standstill for ten years, in the meantime in other countries they have moved forward. now it’s a matter of making the territories understand that this work has no political color and does not only concern two regions, Sicily and Calabria, but the entire country and the future of Europe. Ciucci then highlighted the importance of the dialogue with the territories that will be affected by the works in the various steps, in whose timing the president of Stretto SpA showed equal confidence so that the first of the many first stones can be laid by year”.
