BARI – The evenings at the Petruzzelli Theater before the fire consumed it on the night between 26 and 27 October 1991, the parties in the lounges of the “Bari da bere”, ceremonies and inaugurations, every occasion had the right dress, the one that was supposed to arouse amazement and admiration. The charm of fashion designed by great stylists now lives again in the Kursaal Santalucia Theater in Bari.

The exhibition “Bari è di moda. The golden years of 70/90 couture”, organized by the Lorusso Cipparoli Therapeutic Community of the Opera Santi Medici Cosma e Damiano Bitonto Onlus Foundation, an accredited body of the Region, which has been operating in the region for over 40 years, with the patronage of the Puglia Region and Municipality of Bari.

The dresses, including a wedding dress, in a riot of fine fabrics and colours, framed by the precious photographic exhibition with shots by Enzo Lattanzio which in this period was set up in the same Kursaal room, were shown off by the ladies of Bari who have always had a great taste in fashion, undisputed protagonists of the city’s glamour. The signatures are those of the most loved designers, who have made Italian fashion great in the world and also the most popular internationally. They range from Roberto Capucci to Christian Dior, from Valentino to Chanel, from Yves Saint Laurent to Krizia, Fausto Sarli, and John Galliano.

The initiative has a charitable purpose: the “I enter the field” fundraiser which aims to redevelop the multipurpose pitch for the boys and girls of the Lorusso Cipparoli Therapeutic Community. The vernissage was preceded by a conference in the sold-out Kursaal, held by the journalist Mariella Milani, a fashion expert.
