The spring edition of “Fiorile – Gardens & Flowers on display”: the cultural and nursery event dedicated to greenery in all its forms in terms of beauty, history and sustainability. A careful selection of specialized nurserymen, agricultural producers, artisans and designers will animate
again the Rose Garden of the Royal Castle of Moncalieri (Piazza Baden Baden) with an event aimed at
story of seasonality and excellence, as a corollary of a rich continuous cycle program that will open doors Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April (10am-6pm; free entry) to support the green and tourist vocation of Moncalieri with a continuous program of events and activities dedicated to adults and children.
Attention to every detail byDepartment of Culture of the City of Moncalieri again in partnership withcultural association “Garden forbito”. – an event full of meetings with sector experts and activities related to greenery, gardening and horticulture will be offered, with educational courses dedicated to the theme of biodiversity as well as cultural events, workshops, art exhibitions, in-depth studies and readings.
A weekend, therefore, in the name of creativity with a main important focus: the discovery and celebration of the territory with the tools of a format that combines environmental and cultural policies together, in line with the strategies contained in the Moncalieri Città nel Verde project.
Like every year, the evocative porticoes of the Rose Garden will host the “Knowledge Corner e of Flavors”, with immersive experiences in the world of both design and art and taste and food awareness. An aperitif/tasting of the company’s Ligurian products will be held over the weekend Long live the olive.
The Fiorile event – Gardens and Flowers on display, proudly proposed again ancient Moncalierese square market now in its tenth edition, it contributes and participates again this year in the construction of the identity image of the territory Protected Areas of the Po, of the Turin Hill and of the 85 municipalities involved, became Reserve MAB in March 2016, with a program focused on elements of both naturalistic and cultural interest.
The local producers and nurserymen, selected for seasonality and excellence, they will tell the story of the arrival of Spring and the change of season in all its splendor, alongside a contextualised programme, attentive to art, history, traditions, nature, literature and biodiversity, starting with the territory and its memory. Among the new territorial excellences Fiorile will host Floriculture Tarricone Graziella, Ab Terrarium, Desert Style, the Cerere Madre Terra Agricultural Company, Nina Iris, Pia Taccone, Vaiolet EcoSpazi, The Clover Farm, and it Nusalin saffron.
Therefore following the thread of the continuous rediscovery of genius loci Moncalierese a place of honor will be given to the typical production of these lands, to the buds and flowers ready to bloom.
Thus the immersive walks and the project continue “Cammina Moncalieri” cwith the routes created in collaboration with ASD Andrate Nordic Walking which from the Rose Garden will lead from PininAgria young family-run company that since 2016 has recovered the production of the Tonda Gentile hazelnut, planted giant Moso bamboo and resumed harvesting from the old native cherry trees, among which you will enjoy a good packed lunch and Ranya’s beautiful music.
Still on the subject of environmental enhancement, we will meet the gardener specialized in historical and art parks Jacopo Pellegrinelli to delve into the incredible world of Tree Climbing and all the potential of this innovative pruning technique while, to also give space to creativity, the florists of Floricoltura Racca will offer a practical course in the composition and creation of colorful and fragrant floral bouquets.

Alongside and always on the subject of ecosystems and biodiversity, the educational corner curated as always by Metropolitan pollinators and from Beesuwith workshops and laboratories, will represent the wonderful and necessary world of bees, delving into the life of their ecosystems and the industriousness of their world, transforming and animating the Rose Garden with a treasure hunt in search of flowers and surprises.
The space offood and wine, set up from the stands of the best proposals in the area, also in this new edition of Fiorile offers itself as a place for reflection and an invitation to food awareness. Faithful to UN goals for sustainable development of the 2030 Agenda and attentive to a philosophy of life that fights waste first and foremost, moments dedicated to the world of the table will be proposed, from the producer to the consumer.
In the company and interviewed by Antonella Giani the chef Luca Marin from the Casa Oz Foundation we will discover how important it is to be ethical in the kitchen, how much respect there is in the recovery and exaltation of every part, whether animal or vegetable, in producing planet-saving food treated in a circular economy. Even more so when the dishes are created for fundraisers and social objectives like those pursued every day by Magazzini Oz.
To delve further into the profound relationship between the human and natural spheres, I art space this time it will host the works of Benedetta Piovesana with the exhibition of a choice of floral-themed works, both pictorial and sculptural. In the same context the councillor Laura Pompeo will meet and interview the photographer Daniela Foresto exploring the evocative art of the portrait with the public.
There will be no shortage of music with the duo Strawman and Celinea young couple of extraordinary talent who, with a varied and exciting repertoire of songs, will also flood this edition with melody.
