Today is the day in which the city of Ragusa says goodbye for the last time to one of its most illustrious sons: maestro Giuseppe Leone. The funeral of Giuseppe Leone, who died at the age of 88, takes place at the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista. The city will observe city mourning today as a sign of respect towards the great photography artist who he immortalized the life, customs and landscapes of the Ragusa countryside and made it known throughout the world.
THE FUNERALS
The procession moved at 3.30pm from the Photogallery in Corso Vittorio Emanuele 131 and then continued along Via Roma and arrived in Piazza San Giovanni. LThe religious function is presided over by the vicar general of the diocese of Ragusa Monsignor Sebastiano Roberto Asta, by the parish priest of the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista Don Giuseppe Burrafato and by Don Franco Boncoraglio
In these hours, many messages of condolence have arrived in honor of Giuseppe Leone, an artist who was in contact with the greatest personalities in the world of art and culture of the second part of the 20th century.
