While Marta Cavalli, godmother of the “Alfonsina pedals against the wind” project, returns to racing with a nice 9th place at the Freccia Vallona which saw her triumph in 2022, another woman, Fernanda Pessolano, author of the book Alfonsina and the Circus, he conducted artistic workshops with children from two primary schools: the 4th of the Sette Fratelli Cervi in Bonemerse, with the teacher Arianna Visagli, and the 4th of the BM Visconti with the teacher Patrizia Coppetti.
In the second part of her career, in fact, Alfonsina Strada left cycling and dedicated herself to the circus with jumps, trampoline acrobatics, loops and roller races.
Fernanda, artist and costume designer for contemporary dance, taught children to create installations with paper and other materials by reworking ancient theaters and experimenting with narratives. Thanks to the contribution of the ASI Velocipedi Commission, chaired by Alfredo Azzini, owner of the richest and most prestigious private collection of vintage Velocipedi and bicycles in Soresina, each student was given a copy of the book Alfonsina and the Circus, on which the workshop participants will be able to continue working creating fairy-tale worlds by telling stories and legends related to cycling.
Next, unmissable event: Saturday 18 May at 3.00 pm “Un Po… di Alfonsina” Everyone pedaling together to remember Alfonsina on the 100th anniversary of his Giro d’Italia and to reiterate the NO to violence and arrogance, even verbally, shouting many YES to respect and emancipation, friendship and the sharing of important values in life and sport.
